How much of herself must a mother lose to become a shield for her daughter?

I Can't Tell You

Sofia Virginia Sacchelli

I Can’t Tell You explores the dual nature of motherhood: the tension between the intimate nurturing and the paralyzing anxiety of external threats. Structured through contrasting sequences: slow and gentle care versus fast and disruptive interruptions. The video externalizes the mother’s silent struggle.  A strict spatial duality anchors the mother to the dangerous “right” side to shield the innocent “left” where she keeps the daughter, visualizing the protective censorship required to preserve childhood innocence.
