'Bugia Bianca'
Alessia Farinola
During the first half of the Interior and Exhibit Design semester, I studied and analyzed the 'Briefcase House' project by Jimenez Lai using a 3D model and creating a leaflet. This project is a house within a warehouse loft of 1400 sq. ft. with no partition. It deals with two architectural issues: inside/outside and S/XL. The design condenses the material possessions of an individual into an oversized briefcase, so enormous that the person sleeps inside it.
In the second half of the semester, I showcased my skills by identifying and creating my super furniture, which I named "Bugia Bianca." It comprises a wooden structure with integrated seating, featuring a desk and chair design that includes versatile seating options. It provides shelves, multiple levels, and an outdoor area, inspiring exploration and independence. Its name reflects the illusion of personal space it creates, similar to a harmless white lie.
